2020-21 Greywolf Learning Options for Families

Greywolf Families,

In anticipation of the different proposals that the state will allow schools to offer in the Fall, we anticipate the following information will provide clarity to our families.  We hope this helps you to understand potential learning options for the Fall, as you consider which learning mode might be best for your family.

  • In school learning- Students will attend their regular school and class(es) in school buildings. The In-school options were discussed on the Community Town Hall.  There is a link on our GWE website if you were unable to attend.
  • Remote learning– Students remain enrolled in their neighborhood school and are connected to their classroom teacher online/remotely. Packets/Assignments will be provided by their classroom teacher and will keep students on pace with building curriculum. Teachers will provide support and check-in with their students.
  • Online learning – Students enroll in Dungeness Virtual School with courses being provided by Odysseyware. (Grades 3-12)

Online learning, through Dungeness Virtual School, will not be an option for students K-2.  All remote learning for students in Grades K-2 will be provided directly by our elementary schools.  The Sequim School District believes that keeping our Kindergarten through Grade 2 students directly connected to their classroom teacher, whether through in-class or remote learning, is especially important during this foundational learning time.

All buildings will provide remote learning for students in Grades K-12.  However, if your family would prefer, you can instead sign up your 3rd-12th grade child for 100% online school at Dungeness Virtual School.

Each of these are good options.  We want to share all the information we can to ensure each of you can make the choice that is best for your family.

The decisions we make today, about our students and their education, will make an impact on our students, schools and district.  Please call with any questions, it is our goal to see your students in person or remotely, the first week of September.

Thank you for all you have done to support your child’s education,

Donna Hudson, Principal
